If you’ve ever fumbled trying to reach the top of your phone screen while navigating Obsidian, you’re going to love this.
The new Obsidian 1.11.0 insider release just dropped a major mobile UI overhaul—and the biggest change is where everything lives. Instead of stretching to tap options at the top, all your navigation tabs and widgets have moved to the bottom of the screen. Finally, thumbs reach is a real thing.
Swiping in from the left reveals a completely redesigned navigation panel. Search, file explorer, and all your other widgets are now easily accessible at the bottom where your thumbs naturally rest. The settings menu got a cleaner, more streamlined look too—reminiscent of classic mobile apps but with a modern polish.
On tablets, the sidebars now float on top of the app rather than spanning edge-to-edge, giving everything a more modular feel. While this update shines brightest on phones, tablet users still benefit from the cleaner interface.
