The Boox Note Air 3C Just Got a Lot More Useful

My nearly three-year-old Boox Note Air 3C is still getting meaningful updates.

The 4.2 release for the Boox Note Air 3C quietly delivers some genuinely useful improvements, and the biggest one is calendar integration. You can now sync Google, Outlook, or CalDAV calendars directly into the Calendar Memo app, add events, set reminders, and keep everything organized without reaching for your phone. It’s the kind of feature that transforms an e-ink note-taking and e-reader device into something closer to a daily productivity hub.

Beyond the calendar upgrades, scrollable notes are now a thing, and infinite notes got a cleaner scrolling experience now that you can hide that persistent navigation window that used to interrupt my writing flow. It’s a small thing, but it streamlines the flow of capturing ideas mid-thought.

The honest take? After years of Boox updates that sometimes broke more than they fixed, this one actually adds features that I’ll actually use. The most important thing is that the update didn’t break or remove anything that previously worked for me. Give me a few more updates like this and I might lose that “Install New Update PTSD”.

If you’ve been sitting on the fence about updating, this one’s worth it.
