How It Works
TickTick stays your task management hub. Obsidian gives you a fully editable, linkable document layer on top of it. Edits in either place sync automatically.

Everything at your fingertips
All major actions are available as Obsidian commands — trigger them from the command palette, hotkeys, or the ribbon bar.

Everything stays connected
The plugin runs in the background, reacts instantly when you save a file, and handles the hard parts — conflict detection, recurring tasks, attachments — so you don’t have to.

FAQ
How does authentication work?
The plugin uses TickTick’s OAuth login flow. Once authenticated, your session is maintained automatically. If OAuth doesn’t work in your environment, there’s a manual token fallback using your browser’s TickTick cookie.
Will a single license work on all devices?
Yes, as long as it’s configured to use a synced vault. The license is tied to the Obsidian vault and can only be active in one vault at a time. You can deactivate to reuse the license in another vault and reactivate in the plugin settings.
What happens when both sides edit the same task?
The plugin detects conflicts and gives you options: be prompted each time, always keep TickTick’s version, always keep Obsidian’s version, or let the most recent edit win. You’re always in control.
Does it work with recurring tasks?
Yes. Each instance of a recurring task gets its own markdown file with a date suffix. The recurrence rule is preserved and synced — just don’t delete the ticktick_repeat_flag property from the frontmatter.
Can I use Obsidian wiki links in task descriptions?
You can add them in Obsidian and they’ll work locally, but they’ll appear as plain text in TickTick. For links that work in both apps, use standard markdown links.
What if I delete a task in TickTick?
The plugin mirrors TickTick’s trash system. Trashing a task moves the local file to a _trash folder. Permanently deleting it sends the file to your Obsidian or system trash. Nothing disappears without a trace.
Does the free trial require a credit card?
No. Install the plugin and you get full bi-directional sync for 3 days with no payment info required. After that, sync pauses until you purchase a license — you can still create and edit tasks locally.
